The origin and manufacture of chocolate in Villajoyosa dates all the way back to the 17th century when sailors practiced the coastal trade trading salted fish and almonds for cocoa pods. The very first chocolate factory was established in 1810 and there once was more than 30 chocolate factories in this town. We will visit the small family run chocolate factory of Chocolates Perez and taste the best chocolate in town!***Sundays the chocolate factory is closed and will not be included on this day. Instead our guide will take you to a local bakery to try a local sweet**
