Overview

The E-Chopper Tour in Amsterdam is the perfect way to discover a side of the city most tourists never get to see. On a smooth, silent electric chopper, you’ll cruise effortlessly through the Gardens of West—a beautiful and expansive green area filled with parks, dikes, farmland, and hidden paths on the western edge of Amsterdam.

This tour isn’t just about nature—it’s a journey through authentic Dutch culture. Along the way, you’ll pass working farms, old windmills, allotment gardens, traditional houses, and cozy local cafés where city life slows down. It’s a taste of the real Netherlands, where locals live, grow their own food, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of everyday life.

Unlike a standard bike or walking tour, the E-Chopper offers a fun, relaxed ride that lets you take it all in without breaking a sweat. Eco-friendly and super comfortable, it’s ideal for anyone who wants to mix sustainability, exploration, and cultural discovery into one unforgettable experience.

Stompe Toren Spaarnwoude

The Stompe Toren (literally “Blunt Tower”) is one of the oldest monuments in North Holland, located in the village of Spaarnwoude. Built in the 13th century from large medieval bricks called kloostermoppen, the tower originally had a pointed spire. However, in 1844, the spire was removed due to the risk of collapse and lack of funds, leaving the tower with its current flat top — hence the name Stompe (blunt). It was once part of the Sint-Gertrudiskerk, a church largely destroyed in 1573 during the Siege of Haarlem. Only the tower and parts of the walls survived. In 1764, a new smaller church was built against the original tower. The walls of the tower are approximately 1.80 meters thick and were constructed on peatland — a technical feat at the time.

City Boat Tours wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That's why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.

On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You'll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.

If you see a Badge of Excellence label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through City Boat Tours over a 12-month period.

The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We're always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
