It was fought over during the Battle of Berlin between the Germans and the Soviets and is now topped with a glass copula designed by British architect Sir Norman Foster.Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe – This complex, thought-provoking site is the central Germany memorial to the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis in concentration and death camps around Europe.The Brandenburg Gate – One of the most iconic sights in today's vibrant Berlin and the former royal entrance to Berlin of the Prussian royal family. It survived Napoleon, and WWII and then was trapped in the middle of the Berlin Wall for almost 30 years. This former symbol of division is now an important symbol of German unity.
