Great private beach where we stop for a refreshment, plenty of English local pubs and cafes to explore.Rottingdean Beach is a pebble beach near Brighton on the East Sussex coast. It is a peaceful and picturesque spot, and a perfect escape from the bustling crowds and backed by imposing cliffs.It is safe to swim at Rottingdean Beach, and there are lifeguards on duty during the summer months. There is even a basketball court on the beach by the carpark.This beach is on the Undercliff Walk which runs from Rottingdean towards Brighton Marina.For a brief spell in the 1930s and 40s, Rottingdean was the go-to place for Hollywood’s finest, and actor Cary Grant loved the village.
