Vidraru Dam is a one of the biggest hydroelectric dam in Romania. It is placed at the beginning of River Arges as it was built between 1960 and 1965 and has a height of 166 meters (545 feet). The dam forms a lake with a average capacity of 465 million cubic meters (16.2 billion cubic feet) and a surface area of 22.5 square kilometers (8.7 square miles).
