The Lower Spiral Tunnels Viewpoint is a fantastic spot in Yoho National Park, located in the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia. It's known for its panoramic views of the famous Spiral Tunnels, which are part of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s engineering marvels. The Spiral Tunnels were built to help trains navigate the steep terrain of the Kicking Horse Pass without having to deal with excessive grades, which would otherwise be too dangerous for trains to climb.From the viewpoint, you can get a great view of the tunnels as trains spiral through the mountainside, disappearing and reappearing in the curves of the tunnels. It’s a neat sight because, even though you’re looking down at it from above, it’s hard to believe that a train could make such a tricky route through the mountain.
