What To Expect
Ascent to La Malinche, the fifth highest mountain in Mexico and live the adventure.
Stages of Ascent:
Stage 1: Cloud Forest(3100-4100msnm)
Duration: 2 hours
Unevenness: 1000 meters
Start in the cloud forest, surrounded by majestic pines, oak, oyamel and dense endemic flora.
Stage 2: Alpine bushes (4100-4200 masl)
Duration: 1 hour
Unevenness: 100 meters
As the forest is abandoned, the terrain is transformed into alpine bushes, with lower vegetation. The air becomes colder and the slope becomes steeper. You can see the first panoramic views of the Mexican elevations, the Iztaccíhuatl and the Popocatépetl volcano.
Stage 3: Rocky terrain (4200-4420 m)
Duration: 1 hour
Unevenness: 220 meters
The last stage of the ascent is the most demanding, as the trail becomes rocky and rugged. Security needs to be prioritized. As you approach the summit, the view becomes increasingly breathtaking, with 360-degree panoramas including the most iconic mountains in Mexico.
Panoramic Views:
Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico.
Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl, two of the most iconic volcanoes in the country.
