PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialist Scuba Course
Overview
As a coral restoration NGO, we are the only org in Cozumel that offers this course where you will learn about corals, why they're important and have hands-on experience on protecting and restoring them.
You will be exploring and interacting with the 35 coral species native to Cozumel and the marine life that lives in our coral nursery. We will show you how to dive safely on the reefs to avoid harming the corals and you will also gain knowledge in coral conservation and restoration techniques that you will practice at our coral nursery.
Gain your certified PADI Coral Reef Conservation certification and go on to volunteer with us or other coral NGOs worldwide!
Our course is perfect for those passionate about the environment, who want to learn more about the reefs, and want to give back to the ecosystem they are exploring. As an NGO, 100% of our revenue goes to support out coral conservation and restoration efforts.

What To Expect
Become a Coral Reef Guardian with this 2 day course.
Learn about the coral reefs and how to restore them with this course. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of the Mesoamerican Reef ecosystem, learn restoration techniques, and plant your own coral fragment!
Upon completion, you'll earn a globally recognized PADI certification – your passport to coral conservation worldwide! This course is essential for anyone serious about volunteering in coral restoration efforts.
This course runs weekly, 10am to 4pm, Thursday and Friday. Contact us directly if you don't see a course that matches your availability. No boat needed - you gear up right on shore and swim to the reef in shallow waters.
IMPORTANT You need to have prior scuba experience (PADI Open Water certificate) before booking. Contact us if you need to get certified before the course starts.
Since 2017, the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program has been welcoming people around the world to get certified and volunteer with us to tend to our coral nursery and replant corals in the surrounding areas.
As an NGO, all profits support our reef restoration efforts!
