Research diving with a Marine Biologist in Crete
Overview
Taking part in our Marine Biology dives is your unique chance to take part in doing something good for our environment! You will make 2 dives from a beautiful beach on the stunning south coast of Crete, and will expand your knowledge about the marine environment. This activity is perfect for any certified diver who cares about our environment and wishes to be a positive force for change.
If you are not yet a certified diver, you can join our activity on City Boat Tours called Plakias: Try Scuba Diving first time, and have a chat with our marine biologists to see how you can participate in our marine biology research and education.

What To Expect
Together with a marine biologist guide, you will discover an underwater biome of your group's choice and learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna that inhabit it.
This day program, consisting of 2 dives (for certified divers only), that will be led by one of our in-house, trained Marine Biologists, will be an eye-opening and educational experience. The program will be tailor-made to fit your diving level, experience, and interests.
In a small group of maximum 4 divers, you will become a citizen scientist, collecting important data that will help to educate others, and protect our environment. The briefings will contain fascinating information, which you will then put into practice during the dives. At the end of the day, back at our 5* PADI Diving School and Marine Field Station, you will debrief your dives, talk about what you experienced and learned, as well as look at your samples under a microscope to get an even better look at the fascinating life of the Mediterranean Sea.
This day will be one to remember! An unforgettable day during which you took action to educate yourself and at the same time contributed to valuable Marine Biology projects.

Participants in the Research diving with a Marine Biologist in Crete cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive.
The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.
Jun 2024- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
