Follow me to feed the chickens at Soulouksina's", the grandmother used to say.
"But who is Soulouksina, grandma?".
And thus, the story begins...
With our bikes, we follow the footsteps of a young woman and a shepherd who lived a century ago in this beautiful village of Pediada valley. Through unknown stories, we travel back in time and learn the wise agricultural and social practices the old Cretans used while living in harmony with the environment.
We meet the kind and smiling villagers, wander through picturesque alleys and enjoy authentic daily routines. During our afternoon Soulouksina route we visit old churches, a monastery and nearby villages calming body and mind amid uphills and downhills of the Cretan landscape. We end up in a traditional “kafeneio” where we all together prepare a light meal before sunset.

What To Expect
With the electric bicycle "Specialized Turbo Como" , travelers will get to know the Cretan countryside, traditional villages and villagers. We learn how they live and how they spend their free time. We will visit a Cretan vegetable garden and learn how the Cretans cultivated and how they still cultivate, we will visit Soulouksina's ruins and we learn how the Cretans lived a century ago. We will also visit Agia Paraskevi's church and the monastery of Agarathos. During the route we will pass by villages and admire the Cretan landscape. We will learn about the flora, we will collect Cretan herbs and we feel the warmth of the plain countryside. Each route will not be the same because in the villages we will encounter different social events and activities. Finally, ending up in Episkopi, we will pass by Sevasti's bakery and we will end our cycling experience at the cafeneion of my village where Antonis is waiting for us to prepare Cretan delicacies like those of my childhood.
