Overview

It is the first and best example of an aristocratic home from the 1500s in Florence, completely restored and furnished with original period furniture.
The objects that we admire in museums are displayed here in their true environment. It is essentially a 16th-century house furnished as it would have been at that time. The 14th century palace, which was the prestigious home of the old Davizzi, merchants and bankers, its imposing façade overlooks the square of the same name, once populated by ancient tower-houses.However another family, the Davanzati, who bought it in 1578, enriched its façade with the large coat of arms of their and lived in it until 1838.
