Overview
Enjoy a roundtrip transfer from Funchal to Pico do Arieiro and from Ecological Park of Funchal back to the accommodation. Get picked up at your accommodation in Funchal and dropped off at the entrance to Pico do Arieiro to begin your self-guided hike.
The day before the hike, get the exact pickup time and a weather forecast to get ready for your transfer.

• From the city to Pico do Arieiro: average 1.5 hour (including pick ups)
• From Funchal Ecological Park: average 1.5 hour (including drop offs)
• Pick-up/Dropoff limits: Funchal and Caniço areas exclusively

Meeting and Pickup
Pick up is only between Funchal and Caniço. The day before the hike it will be asked to confirm your pick up location (via WhatApp or email) Pick up and Drop of locations are the same - its not possible to insert a different location for drop off
What To Expect
Disclaimer: Due to the Partial Closure of the PR1 Trail from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo. This service has adapted to the trails open.
Hike at your own rhythm on a self-guided trek and explore Pico do Arieiro Mountains area. Adventure yourself on the trail Stairway to Heaven - 2.5km and admire the unique views on the edges of the mountains (up to 1830 m). After this famous Stairway to Heaven Trail (PR1), connect with Vereda do Burro Trail (PR3) for 7km, downhill mostly. This part of the walk will be more green and flat surfaced. Finish this amazing walk at the End of Ecological Park, where you can visit a small donkeys farm in a valley and heat up with a hot chocolate at the Restaurante Barracão.

Vereda do Burro Trail (PR3) - 7.3km (3 hours)
