Somehow it was necessary to defend oneself from the “Saracen” fury, the inhabitants of Forio had decided to make life difficult for those who landed with not exactly peaceful intent: sighting and escape, this is the tactic. The Forian towers served the first purpose, the labyrinths of narrow streets and the very high walls of these palaces-castles, served the second. After all this effort, a stop to taste the products made by expert Forian hands.
