In Turkey, in a living of comperatively conservative cultures and traditions we live, weddings are a important element of people socially expressing themselves. A lot of people could meet at weddings and then get married. Therefore, halay and other folk dances are an important way of self expression.
Although this starts as a social expression, it is also a great meditation when you can feel the balance of the mind and the body in the flow of the music. That's why, we truely find all kinds of folk dances unique and definitely advice all travelers from different cultures to come experience these feelings with us, at our home environment. Being in our home, you will feel very comfortable to let your mind travel freely and hopefully experience these feelings.

What To Expect
Have you ever been to a wedding in Turkey? If you are interested in Turkey's folk dances that we dance for weddings or if you are planning to go to a wedding in Turkey at some point, you might want to come meet us first.
Me, Ozan and my wife Daisy want to invite you to our home to explore one of the most interesting elements of Turkey's cultures. Folk dances are a big part of not only Turkish culture but also a part of the culture for all minorities that exist in Turkey. We call this, Halay.
Firstly, we will welcome you to our home to get to know each other a bit and introduce our cultures to each other. After some tea and getting in the mood, we will tell you about the regions that these dances are mostly performed at. After that, we will take position and say "LET THE HALAY BEGIN".
After dancing, laughing and performing multiple dance types, we will sit together and enjoy some tea from our scenic terrace.
At the end of the experience, you will leave home with a skill that you can show off at the weddings in Turkey. And trust me, if you really want to feel a wedding in Turkey, you need to be a part of the halay.
