On a crisp spring morning in 1929, a crew from Okanagan Falls had a wild idea: move an old wooden church from a deserted mining camp back home. But those pesky rusty nails wouldn’t budge—until Harley Hatfield suggested a little dynamite. Four sticks later, a blast echoed through the valley, and, to everyone's surprise, the church survived (minus the steeple). The nails were loosened, and the church was successfully rebuilt in Okanagan Falls, where it still stands today, proudly known as the "blasted church." Inspired by this daring feat, we named our winery and Hatfield’s Fuse after Harley’s explosive solution. Cheers to thinking outside the box—or inside the dynamite!
