Catalina Island Diving Experience from Punta Cana
Overview
Pick up from your hotel and travel to La Romana to board a boat heading to your first dive spot. After an orientation and safety briefing from the dive instructor, put on your scuba gear and let's start diving the wall on the east side of the island, one of the most pristine dive sites in the country, with depths between 33 and 99 feet (10 and 30 m). Below the surface, admire colorful coral reef gardens as well as other diverse marine life. Dive to shallower depths in aquariums on the opposite side of Catalina Island, with a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 m). It is considered one of the best diving sites in the Dominican Republic. Continue your diving adventure with a delicious Dominican-style buffet lunch with barbecue and take advantage of the open bar. What To Expect
We will pick you up at your Hotel and begin our trip to La Romana. During the trip, we will pass through the sugar cane fields. Upon arrival, we will board a Catamaran and depart to Catalina Island. Our first stop on the island will be at the famous diving point "The Wall", a majestic coral wall. Next we will have the next stop at the incredible diving spot "Aquarium". Each dive consists of 40/45 minutes. - After the dive, we will continue the way to the beautiful Catalina beach. Upon arrival, we will have access to a beach bar with drinks and a delicious Dominican buffet lunch with barbecue. We will board the catamaran around 3:00 p.m. to return to Punta Cana after an incredible day of diving and snorkeling and relaxing on Catalina Island. Operates every day. Its approximate duration is 10 hours.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All City Boat Tours snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.

However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
May 2023Participants in the Catalina Island Diving Experience from Punta Cana cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive.
The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.

Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
