The first stop on this tour is at Fatima's Sanctuary, one of the largest Marian centers of the Catholic Church, which currently receives about 6 million people per year. The land where it is built was the place where Nossa Senhora de Fátima appeared to the three little shepherds (Lucia, Francisco and Joana) in 1917, and where 5 of her 6 apparitions took place.
