You will be able to discover and experience first hand, inside a craft workshop, the ancient art of pottery making and its secrets. "This land speaks to us," says the architect and designer, "it frees with its signs the voices that groan in it. I listen to it, I pick up its voice, and build objects that interpret it. The visit to a typical Sassi artisan studio will be a way to enjoy a 2 hours fascinating storytelling by an architect and ceramist from Lucania who, in his workshop, creates different design objects with materials skilfully chosen locally and worked with his own hands. Roughness and ripples of mineral and telluric ceramics recall the gullies between Aliano and Montalbano Jonico, creating a bridge with the cultural landscape of Basilicata. At the end of the activity you could take home your artifact or ask for shipping: it will be a unique, fun, and satisfying moment!

What To Expect
During the 2 hours workshop you will experiment with some techniques from local craftsmanship. You will learn to give new life to ancient handcraft traditions and make a small ceramic object like a pot or a cup, by modelling and shaping on a potter's wheel. The creation that will gradually take shape can be customised and taken home, if possible. You can also ask for shipping, with an additional cost. It will represent your indelible memory souvenir of the most authentic Lucania. This is an ideal experience to combine with a guided tour of the Sassi. At the end of the activity you could taste, on request, also typical food and wine products, with an additional cost.
