Here on Lake Constance, the vines grow predominantly on ice age weathering soils - there is nowhere else in Germany! The terroir offers ideal conditions to produce fine wines.     In the immediate vicinity of the old castle Meersburg is the New Castle, which was built at the beginning of the 18th century by the former prince-bishops here as a residence. The castle is in Baroque splendour and proudly faces Lake Constance. It originated from the former hospital and shows a large, historic torch in the vestibule, which was used to squeeze the grapes until 100 years ago and then turn their juice into wine by expert hands.
