Explore the fascinating legend that surrounds Rose Hall Great House known for its horror stories about the infamous Annie Palmer. This mysterious tail has taunted the minds of locals and visitors alike for generations since the 17th century. Annie Palmer called the “White Witch” because of her countless lovers and allegedly poisoned her three husbands. A vengeful slave supposedly smothered her with a pillow in her bed in the 1830s.
Then take a boat tour on the Luminous Lagoon and see the harmless microscopic organisms that give the water it’s the nacreous blue-green look. The water luminescence is triggered by dinoflagellates, oceanic plankton which is able to generate an emerald green and ultramarine illumination when water is physically disturbed. Luminous Lagoon offers a 30 minute guided tour of the lagoon where you are able to see the natural wonders of the water as it glows. As the guide informs you of the science and history behind the glow of the water you are invited to enjoy a swim in the lagoon. As you embark to the shore you are entertained by mellow music to prepare for the next 30 minute of the tour.
