Overview

Your adventure begins right at your hotel—whether you’re in Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or Füssen. I’ll pick you up in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz Vito minivan, with room for up to 8 guests. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic ride through Bavaria.

Our first stop: the iconic Marienbrücke (Queen Mary’s Bridge). Suspended above the Pöllat Gorge, it offers stunning panoramic views of Neuschwanstein Castle and the alpine surroundings. It’s the perfect spot for breathtaking photos.

Then we head to Neuschwanstein Castle—the crown jewel of Bavarian castles. You’ll join a small-group guided tour and step into the dreamlike world of King Ludwig II. Explore grand rooms like the throne hall and private chambers, each filled with story and mystery.

After the tour, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in comfort—no rush, no stress. Just a magical day of history, scenery, and unforgettable moments.

What To Expect

Once we arrive, we’ll hop on the shuttle bus that takes us up the hill—saving our energy for what comes next. If conditions allow and both the shuttle and Marienbrücke (Queen Mary’s Bridge) are open, we’ll start with a visit to this legendary bridge. The view from here is pure magic—perfect for those epic shots with the castle in the background.

From there, we’ll explore the castle by foot from the outside. Along the way, I’ll share stories and fun facts about King Ludwig II, his eccentric life, and the royal family’s legacy. It’s a relaxed stroll with a royal twist—just the way I like it.

Then comes the grand finale: a 45-minute guided tour inside the castle. Step into King Ludwig’s dream world—from the dramatic throne room to his richly decorated chambers. Every room reveals more of the mystery and ambition that defined his life.

Afterwards, we can either enjoy a scenic 30-minute walk through the woods or hop into a charming horse-drawn carriage for the ride down.

We take our time, we soak it in, and we do it the Sepp way: scenic, simple, and always personal.

Time at the castle: approx. 3 hours.
Total tour duration: about 6-7 hours—depending on the starting point

City Boat Tours wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That's why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.

On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You'll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.

If you see a Badge of Excellence label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through City Boat Tours over a 12-month period.

The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We're always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
