What To Expect
Explore the beauty of Antelope Canyon from the unique perspective of a self-guided kayaking. This is an incredible opportunity to experience one of the most photographed and awe-inspiring slot canyons in the world on your own. This activity is suitable for both beginner and advanced kayakers who are physically fit and are excited to explore the Antelope Canyon. You can choose to kayak only for 2-3 hours, or you can kayak, hike & swim for 5-6 hours.
Meeting Point: Pick up your rental equipment at the bottom of Antelope Point Launch Ramp (accessible through Google Maps).
Main Channel Paddling: You'll start paddling in the stunning main channel of Lake Powell, surrounded by red rock cliffs and vast waters. The kayaking route will lead you towards the entrance of Antelope Canyon. Our team will provide you with the instructions.
Canyon Paddle: As you paddle deeper into Antelope Canyon, you’ll be captivated by the towering sandstone walls and the tranquil waters below. The canyon’s beauty is amplified by the sun’s rays filtering through the narrow openings, creating a mesmerizing play of light and shadow.
Skill Levels: This self-guided kayak activity is suitable to physically fit
customers. The customer is responsible to carry kayak from the water’s edge to the drop off area.
Scenic Hike: Once you reach the back of the canyon, it’s time to park your kayak and embark on a scenic hike. You’ll walk through the narrow slot canyons, which have been shaped by millions of years of erosion. Every turn offers a new perspective of the sandstone formations and their vibrant colors. You can hike 1-3 hours. It is one way in and one way out.
Photo Opportunities: This hike is perfect for capturing unforgettable moments, as Antelope Canyon is renowned for its striking landscapes.
Relax and Swim: After the hike, it’s time to cool off with a refreshing swim in the pristine waters of Lake Powell. Enjoy the stunning views around you as you float in the clear, blue water, surrounded by towering canyon walls.
Leisurely Paddle Back: After your swim, hop back in your kayak for a relaxed paddle back to the starting point, taking in the last of the canyon’s incredible scenery.
Return of the Equipment: When you are finished, you will return the rental equipment at the bottom of the Antelope Point launch ramp-right where you started.
