Advanced Open Water Diver course PADI in Playa del Carmen
Overview
This course is designed to advance your diving. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
According to National Geographic, water covers more than 70% of the surface of our planet and only 2 to 5% of the oceans have been studied. There are more than 2.2 million species of organisms living in the oceans, of which only 194,400 are known. The advantage of carrying out this certification in Mexico is the great diversity of diving sites present. There are millions of animals, plants, caves and cenotes that can only be seen in Mexico.
Advanced Open Water Diver is the second level of certification. This worldwide certificate allows you to dive up to 30 meters. This 2-day course includes a theoretical and a practical part with 5 dives in the sea or in the cenotes.

What To Expect
Course content:
- 5 Open Water Dives
You will plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives.There are two required dives:
- Deep Adventure Dive: you will learn how to plan dives to dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving
Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive: you will refine your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time
You will choose the other three for a total of five dives.

- Confirmation will be received within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability
- Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- Minimum age is 10 years
- Diving within 24 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical
- Evidence of dive certification is required (Open Water Diver or analog)
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

(7)Q: How soon can I fly in an airplane after Scuba diving?
A: Participants in the Advanced Open Water Diver course PADI in Playa del Carmen cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive. The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS. Read more Jun 2024
