There is surely plenty to see while in Sulmona. We suggest to focus on the points below: - The Medieval aqueduct ,built in 1256 to transport water from the Gizio river to workshops in the city or to mills. It is an example of great medieval engineering for its structure and complexity. Composed of 21 pointed arches, it also includes a plaque with an epigraph. - Church of Santa Maria della Tomba located in Piazza del Plebiscito. Built in 1076 on top of a Roman temple, the Church has fascinating Romanesque and Gothic ornaments. The church bell tower was rearranged in the 1800s due to the damage caused by the 1706 earthquake and was embellished with a clock. Inside you can also admire the terracotta statue of the Madonna and Child. - The complex of the Santissima Annunziata is probably the most representative monument of the city of Sulmona and therefore deserves a thorough visit. - Confetti shops: Sulmona is well-known for the production of Confetti.
