Fontana di Trevi

Hidden down the narrow backstreets of the city, Trevi Fountain is a secretive masterpiece, and perhaps the most spectacular fountain in Rome. Built at the end of one of the famed aqueducts that supplied the Roman Empire with water, this iconic setting attracts many visitors. Toss a coin into its waters to ensure a safe return to Rome at some stage in the future.

You will proceed to the Spanish Steps, one of the biggest tourist spots in the city. As you stand and admire the Church of Trinità dei Monti, which sits at the top of a famous stairwell with the Fontana Della Barcaccia at its foot, you will wonder how they were ever able to complete it.

Colosseum

(FROM OUTSIDE) The Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an iconic elliptical amphitheatre in the heart of Rome. Built by the Flavian dynasty in the 1st century AD, it was the largest amphitheatre ever constructed, seating up to 80,000 spectators. It famously hosted gladiatorial contests, wild animal hunts, and public spectacles, serving as a powerful symbol of Roman engineering, culture, and power.

Circo Massimo

The Circus Maximus, nestled in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine Hills, was ancient Rome's largest and most impressive stadium. Primarily a chariot-racing arena, it could hold over 150,000 spectators (some estimates suggest up to 250,000!), making it the paramount entertainment venue for centuries. Beyond thrilling races, it also hosted public games, religious festivals, and even gladiator contests and wild beast hunts. Today, it stands as a vast, open-air park, offering a tangible sense of its immense scale and a powerful link to Rome's glorious past.

Additional Info

  • Confirmation is instant and will be received at time of booking
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS AND STROLLERS: Visits to Ancient Rome and the Vatican Museums involve significant walking. Elevators are available for visitors with mobility issues, and a considerable portion of the museum features wheelchair-accessible paths. Please note that visitors with limited mobility can contact us to request special accommodations, such as wheelchairs or walkers. A member of your group will be responsible for pushing the wheelchair. Please note that wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers are not permitted in the passage connecting the Basilica's courtyard due to the 50 steps that are both downwards and upwards. The tour will conclude with a visit to the Museums. It is forbidden to split the group to allow part of it to continue inside the Basilica. The whole group is requested to stay with the guide. For the same reason, we suggest avoiding strollers and using a baby sling instead.
  • **IMPORTANT INFO FOR LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS:** The Basilica stops issuing tickets three days before the tour. During peak season, tickets may sell out four to five days in advance. Last-minute bookings may still allow for a visit to the Basilica. After leaving the Sistine Chapel, you will queue without a ticket with your guide, who will stay with you for an extra hour to navigate the line and metal detector checks. We apologize for any inconvenience, as this is beyond our control.

Sorting, ranking, and search results

Activity name

City Boat Tours wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That's why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.

On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You'll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.

If you see a Badge of Excellence label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through City Boat Tours over a 12-month period.

The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We're always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
