What To Expect

Colosseum

The Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheatre, is one of the most famous symbols of Rome and the ancient world. Built between 70 and 80 AD.C. under the emperors Vespasian and Titus, is an imposing elliptical structure in stone and concrete, 189 meters long and 156 meters wide, with a height of about 50 meters. It could accommodate up to 50,000 spectators, watching shows such as gladiator fights, wild animal hunts and battle reenactments. The building was divided into four rows of seats, reflecting the strict social hierarchy of the time.Below the arena was the hypogeum, an intricate system of galleries and rooms used to prepare the shows. Despite the damage suffered over the centuries, caused by earthquakes, looting and the passage of time, the Colosseum remains a symbol of the greatness of the Roman Empire. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it attracts millions of tourists every year, testifying to its timeless historical and cultural importance.

Roman Forum

The Roman Forum, located in the heart of Rome, was the political, religious and commercial center of the ancient city. Originally a marshy area, it was reclaimed in the seventh century BC.C. and transformed into a public square, surrounded by temples, basilicas and other monumental buildings. Here assemblies, trials, religious ceremonies and markets took place, making it the hub of Roman public life.Among the most important monuments of the Forum are the Curia, seat of the Senate, the Arch of Septimius Severus, dedicated to the emperor, and the Basilica of Maxentius, one of the most impressive structures in the complex. The temples of Saturn, Vesta and Dioscuri also stand out, testifying to the central role of religion in Roman society.Today the Roman Forum is an archaeological site of great charm, where the ruins evoke the majesty of ancient Rome. Visited by millions of tourists, it offers a unique insight into the daily, political and religious life of one of the greatest civilizations in history.

Palatine Hill

The Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, is considered the cradle of the eternal city and the place where, according to legend, Romulus founded Rome in 753 BC.C. This hill was one of the most prestigious areas of ancient Rome, becoming the seat of the aristocracy and, later, the emperors. Here were luxurious palaces such as the Domus Augustana, the Domus Flavia and the House of Livia, the private residence of Emperor Augustus. In addition to the imperial buildings, the Palatine Hill houses important archaeological remains, such as the Romulus Hut, symbol of the origins of Rome, and the remains of ancient temples and gardens. Its strategic position, overlooking the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus, made it a privileged place both from a political and landscape point of view.
