What To Expect
During this 4-hour walking food tour in Rome, we take you off the typical touristic path, to discover the best Rome has to offer. Become immersed in the rich culture and meet the food heroes, who are at the heart of Italian food traditions. In between tastings, we share an insight into the history, architecture and local secrets, which define the Eternal City.
Begin your tour with a typical Italian breakfast, picking out your preference in coffee while watching your cannoli being freshly made. After breakfast you will be taken to the Paciotti gourmet shop, voted number 1 on trip advisor. Here you will sample a variety of italy’s favorite cheeses and meats, as well as 25 year aged balsamic vinegar, truffles, and fine wine.
Following Paciotti, we move on to the legendary Pizzarium to meet Gabriele Bonci, known as the Michelangelo of Pizza, to taste the best pizza in Rome. With over 80 different varieties made daily, expect to have a difficult time choosing your favorites.
The largest food market in Rome is next, with delicious food tastings and introductions to local Roman families, who have been running the stalls for generations. Real buffalo mozzarella, eggplant parmesan, bruschetta are some of the highlights you will get to enjoy.
We then take you to an award-winning restaurant, with a panoramic view of the neighborhood to taste freshly made Roman pasta, including carbonara, amatriciana and cacio e pepe, accompanied with wine.
