What To Expect

On this private guided hike, your local guide will show you the beauty of the Tongass National Forest on this Hike to Beaver Lake. Mountain views, lake, muskeg, diverse flora and fauna are just a few of the highlights of this beautiful trail. At the Beaver Lake trailhead, you will begin your hike with towering hemlock, spruce, and yellow cedar. Hiking up to about 500 feet in elevation to the muskeg and then Beaver Lake, you will loop around the shore, where you can often see eagles, ducks, and other birds. Your guide will share insights about the islands' history, flora, and fauna while you take in the 360* views of nearby rugged mountains, and explore the muskeg.
