Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater

Rezo Gabriadze's puppet theater is located on Shavteli Street in the old part of Tbilisi. It is the first Georgian puppet theater in Tbilisi. The theater was built in 1981 by Rezo Gabriadze. It has an individual, interesting architecture and is one of the most popular sights in Tbilisi. The clock tower created by Rezo Gabriadze in 2010 became the face of the theater. Once an hour, a golden angel comes out of the painted doorway and rings the bell with a small hammer.

Anchiskhati Basilica

Anchiskhati Cathedral is located at Ioane Shavteli Street in the old part of Tbilisi. It is a three-nave basilica dating back to the 6th century and is the oldest church building in Tbilisi. The current name of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is connected with the icon of the Savior that came here from Anchi Monastery in South Georgia in 1664. The icon of the Savior of Anchi is an excellent example of Georgian stamping, it is carved by Beka Opizari and is currently kept in the Georgian National Museum. In the late Middle Ages, the Anchiskhati Church was an important center of religious and cultural life.

Metekhi Cathedral

Metekhi Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is located in the ancient historical district of Metekhi, on the left bank of the Mtkvari River, in old Tbilisi.The main sanctuary of the temple is the tomb of St. Shushanik. After the ecclesiastical split between the Armenians and the Georgians at the beginning of the 7th century, Catholicos Kyrion transferred the remains of the saint from the small town of Tsurtavi to the Metekhi temple.
