Overview
Hi, I'm Karin, founder of daslebenspueren.at. I organise guided hikes in the vicinity of Vienna. With a maximum of 3 people, the groups are small and private. It allows me to respond individually to the wishes and needs of the participants.
Our walk begins in Krems and takes us on a big loop through the hills and vineyards overlooking the towns. On our way back, we explore the old streets of Stein and Krems to the starting point.
The twin towns Krems and Stein are nestled along the banks of the Danube River. These towns offer a unique blend of history, architecture, and outdoor activities. However, the true beauty lies in the vineyards surrounding these towns. We will follow the picturesque trails above Krems and Stein, enjoying the panoramic views of the Danube Valley.
Architectural gems dot the landscape, with ancient wine cellars, traditional Heuriger wine taverns, and charming hilltop castles offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history.

We make a big loop and wander from Krems to the neighboring town of Stein and back. We hike through the vineyards overlooking Krems and Stein and enjoy fantastic views of the city, the river, and the surrounding hill chains. On our way back, we walk through the medieval town of Stein and Krems and admire the beautiful architecture. We end our Wachau Winter Walk in one of the local inns (optional) before heading back to Vienna.
