After pickup from your hotel in Zagreb, you'll make the trip to Kumrovec, a preserved, open air museum village of 19th and 20th century homes. Visit the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito and learn about his rise to fame and the history of communist Yugoslavia. You'll also see his elementary school, arboretum where he hosted public figures, and a large bronze statue in his honor.
Antique homes, called hize, represent Croatia's history. Each house tells a story of peasant life and craft, such as pottery, wheelwrights, blacksmithing, and toy making, which is a protected cultural heritage.
After visiting Kumrovec, only in May, we are taking you on the magical ROSE trail where you can experience the scents of the fields of damask roses and buy beautiful rose products!

A re-creation of a 19th-century village, the Staro Selo Museum features 40 RESTORED HOUSES AND BARNS made of pressed earth and wood. The village was also the BIRTHPLACE of JOSIP BROZ TITO, the former president of Yugoslavia. His house is now a museum containing original furniture, letters from foreign leaders and memorabilia, with a life-sized bronze sculpture outside.
